Always include the named place

FOB without a named port, or DAP without a named destination, is incomplete. Use the agreed Incoterms edition and location.

Separate title and payment

Incoterms do not determine ownership, payment timing, product quality or every document. Those belong in the wider contract.

Match the transport

Some rules are intended for sea or inland waterway transport, while others work across modes. Confirm the rule with the freight professional handling the route.
